North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network Pre-College Program
The Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) houses the North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN) Pre-College Program, which enrolls nearly 1,000 middle and high school students each year.
Upward Bound
Upward Bound is an educational assistance program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It serves 90 high school students each year primarily from low income and potential first-generation college student homes. The mission of Upward Bound is to prepare these students for college and lifelong learning and to enhance their self-esteem. Activities include after-school and Saturday enrichment activities during the school year, a six-week summer program and a special summer program for graduated seniors providing them with a college freshmen experience prior to fall enrollment.
