Catherine “Elise” Barrett is a clinical assistant professor in the School of Education. A former middle school reading and language arts teacher, she currently teaches courses in the Middle Grades Education Program, Elementary Education Program and M.Ed. for Experienced Teachers Program. Barrett's scholarly interest focuses on the development and expansion of academic language in reading and written discourse. Her further interests include language development and academic achievement. Barrett is also active in the middle grades profession and is the faculty sponsor for the Collegiate Middle Level Association, whose members are students in the Middle Grades Education Program. |
